Hello Everybody!
Around 3 years ago I have purchased my 1999 JDM Honda Accord CF-4 Sir-t, and after a year of driving my car developed a small problem where if you turn right with the steering wheel it would turn with ease and if your turn left there would be a lot of resistance.
Not long ago I had to go for MOT (here where I live it's every two years) and unfortunately I failed due to this problem, since I am a student and did not have the time to try to fix it myself I gave it to a mechanic, and he instead of fixing the power steering he swapped the power steering form some junked Honda which worked good, turned right and left great, but straight after passing inspection developed a weird noise whenever you would turn the wheel and after around 3 months, the EPS light would be coming on when I sometimes start the car and I had to restart the car for it to go away. And then one day finally the power steering failed completely. Few weeks ago after I finished my exams I have raised my car and took out the junk power steering and replaced it with the old power steering I had (I asked the mechanic to give me the old parts) and before installing it, I took it apart, cleaned it and lubricated the pinion gear as well as swapping out the torque sensor form the junk power steering to the original power steering since the original sensor was cracked and the junk one was intact.

I have some experience in fixing cars and have done some research about electronic power steering but cannot find what could be the cause of this issue. Now my power steering works exactly the same as it did on the beginning, so therefore swapping the torque sensor did not help and I don't think that it is the computer issues since the power steering computer is original the junk power steering worked with it before it broke down.
I am in desperate need of help since I don't know electronic power steering’s very well and don't want to buy a whole new rack.
Is there anybody that has experienced the same problem or knows what could be the issue? I would really appreciate some help and pointers.
