Default Really odd D15 hybrind motor, will it work?

Alright, I'm doing a motor-swap in a CRX right now. It's an '89 HF w/ the 16 valve D15B2 (2 MPFI injectors). The guy said that it would run, but it was making all kinds of noise, I suspected that one of the rods broke, so I tore the motor down tonight, took the head off, to find all the pistons in their propper positions, but I'm thinking once I drop the oil pan, the berings will just be gone. So anyway, on to the meat and potatos of the post.......

The stock engine, like I said, is the D15B2. SOHC 1.5L 16 valve, w/ 2 injectors, down draft T body, factory rated at 92hp.

I have a '92 CX motor in my garage, it's a D15B8.

D15B8 is a SOHC 1.5L 8 valve w/ 4 injectors, and a side draft T-body.

I was wondering what you thought of using the D15B8 Intake manifold on the D15B2, whether it would be to his benefit at all. I'd obiously have to change the ECU, wiring harness, and Throttle linkage.

I don't think you'll gain much from using a CX intake manifold. Those things are pretty small and restrictive looking. Although you will be converting to MPFI, in this case it may not be worth it IMO.

The D15B2 has MPFI as welll, Multi Point being just 2 points. Any other takers? Probably not with it, eh?

I drained the oil and found no metal pieces... odd.

A d15b2 came with dpfi(dual point fuel injection) unless some one changed the intake manifold on it it should be dpfi. Which would make the other guy before right. And again I dont think running a econo CX manifold is going to do a whole lot for you. If I was you I would go with a si intake manifold you can usually pick them up pretty cheap. Basically not worth your time you will probably gain nothing out of the swap.

Cool, thanks guys. I was just trying to make something better from parts I had sitting around. Would be more worthwhile to get a used turbo and boost it than it would to buy another intake manifold.

it's not an HF if it has two injectors. it's a DX. and like they stated already, two injectors is not multi-point, it's dual-point. HFs had mpfi and 8 valves. DX has dpfi and 16 valves.
just fyi.

If you were to use the CX intake, you would need to either:

#1 convert your car to obd1 and use a CX ECU and dizzy
or
#2 use 88-91 EX or SI Injectors, ECU, Injector resistor box, and Dizzy

#2 would probably be the better option, but if you're going to do that, you might as well get the Si intake mani and get the full bennefit.

Would be more worthwhile to get a used turbo and boost it than it would to buy another intake manifold.
The DX throttle body is so small that it will bottle neck the air. You'd probably get more benefit for the money with a MPFI swap than you would with a turbo'd DPFI
