Default ELD disconnect

Hello,

Can you help. I am wanting to disconnect the ELD on a Honda CRV 2002. Reason is on my dual battery system it is causing the Isolator to switch on and off all the time.

Thank you

Brian

Essentially, the ELD Bypass can be done like the following:

Do at your risk!!!

1. Cut Green/Red wire from ELD to PCM.
2. The half of Green/Red wire coming from the PCM (ELD Unit Input) goes to the POLE of the toggle switch (12VDC SPDT Toggle Switch).
3. The other half of the Green/Red wire from the ELD (Load Output) goes to THROW 1 of the switch; the POLE would be switched to this THROW to have ELD to work normally.
4. THROW 2 goes through an 820-ohm resistor to the black ELD ground wire at the plug; switching to this THROW would bypass the ELD and cause the alternator to turn on and charge the battery all the time. – Important: “Do not ground this resistor to chassis ground. “

Thanks again tech8. Before trying that I am wondering if just buying a BCDC dual battery charger like Ctek or Projecta would work okay with the Honda ELD. They say to use them with cars with smart alternators. Is that what my Honda CRV 2002 has?
