Reliable Turbo Kit for Stock D Series civic?
Hi,
I recently got a really nice clean 1994 EG Hatch manual civic.
I want to Turbo it but I am not very knowledgeable about cars.
I was wondering if there was a reliable turbo kit that sort of came with everything I need to install everything in one go.
I dont need much speed. I just want a turbo build that will last for a while until I eventually swap.
I guess I am wondering if you guys have recommendations for Stock D engine Turbo kits or parts.
Do I just go with an ebay kit? Should I pay a professional to install? I have some friends who could possibly help me but I wonder if its just better to get a pro to install the kit.
I don't necessarily want a ton of speed. Just something faster then stock that will be a little more fun to drive. I dont want anything that will destroy my car.
Any help or constructive criticism would be great thanks.

I'd say just run what you got until youre ready for a swap. Not sure if a turbo kit is the best for a car newbie, but if you are set on a turbo kit. check out some turbo d series build threads. It's been done many times before, and can be fun. dont expect too much power or reliability though.
as been said, if you're not mechanically inclined and you're eventually going to swap anyway, don't waste time/money.
A basic drop-in B series swap will make as much if not more power than a stock turbo D.

Not sure what your overall goals are with the car, but that would be plenty peppy and quick in stock form, and as long as you put it together correctly would be dead reliable.
