honda civic 2009engine won't start-went thru water
it was pouring rain last night when i left work and i went thru more of a lake than what i could call a puddle and engine stopped - had my dad help me push in parking lot - went back today and it only clicks - i have to replace air filter as it's soaked - it only clicks won't turn over - can you give me any help suggestions - thank-you charles
Pull the spark plugs out and try to turn it over again. If it is full of water... you have the definition of "hydro-locked". Your cylinder walls are rusting as I type... get that moisture out right away and then see where you are with the engine. Chances are good that rotating and moving parts are bent... connecting rods and valves are the most susceptible. A compression test as mentioned above is a start. Good luck.
