Icon5 caliper powder coat question

I'm going to powder coat my RL Advics. Surely, I will remove the pistons and all the rubber parts. Would you say I should pull the calipers apart, I mean powder coat the halves separately? I guess, there's a kind of sealing? between the halves - will it suffer while powder coating process if I don't?

I'd like to keep the acura logo untouched - is there any way I could cover it while powder coating the caliper?

Thanx in advance for any advice.

You have to completely disassemble the caliper. It does have to be halved.

Find a rebuild kit that replaces ALL the seals before you break the caliper apart, though.

Ask the powder coater if they can mask or machine off the ACURA logo. They may just grind the powder off the letters once it comes out of the oven.

No worries. Good luck, and make sure you choose a powder coater who will take their time masking the calipers properly to avoid sealing and performance issues later.
