Azenis.. not even classified as a 'semi slick'.

Yes, they're just street tires.

Remember that being sticky for sideways force doesn't necessarily translate to being sticky for forward/backwards force (braking/acceleration). Each tire has its own oval-shaped friction pattern, and street tires, however sticky, aren't going to come near the shape of a drag radial or true slick.

That being said, their friction circle is gonna be much larger than your run-of-the-mill all season radial. They're no-nonsense tires. You will notice they'll be stickier, but that stickiness might translate to wheel hop instead of a smooth spin.

Thanks
They are marketed as semi slicks though aren't they? I know my boss has azenis which are just decent road tyres, but then there are the semi slick ones??? If I am still mistaken what would you reccomend?? I can't get the nittos here.

Don't worry, run them at 16-18 psi for drag and your set lol, i have them and they are great but i never got to use them much till it snowed here, my buddies used them for drag at the track and ran 16-17 psi and got wicked 60 fts....The reason you gotta run them so low is to avoid wheelhop, you gotta make the sidewall give in a bit....and also they stick like crazy at that low psi lol

you're not suppose to lower psi in street tires that much... your top end will be sacrificed.. drag radials and slicks expand at high speeds, street tires don't....

Well id say 17-18 would still be fine, maybe 16 is a bit low tho....my buddies still go good times for theres cars...it wasn't affecting the top end too much....
