I had a new door put on, and now my element will lock automatically if the key is in the ignition, even when in park and the engine is off. If I put it in park and jump out to get the mail, it will lock when the door shuts. Running or not. If I can, I would just program it so the locks stay open until you lock them manually. I have tried some of the programming for other Honda vehicles, but it didnt seem to work. It is a 2006 and I had a drivers door replaced, but I dont know the year of the car that door came off of.

 

The door I used for a replacement was off a 2004. The dealer was kind of clueless, but thought maybe the electric harness was different, even though the doors are comparable.
