2002 CR-V Test Drive Noise Help
Hello, looking for a little help on a CR-V I want to buy. Here's the issue...
2002 CR-V EX 4WD AT
Whistle/Squeal, definitely not a belt squeal
Only happens in Drive under heavy throttle, above 3500 RPM (seemed consistent - VTEC related?)
It gets slightly louder with engine speed, but instantly disappears between gear shifts
Vehicle speed doesn’t seem to affect it
Maybe a bearing, but there’s no howling or resonating sound
Intake maybe, but there’s no sucking & no build up or fading sound
It’s almost an instant on/off
I think the A/C was on low during test drive
Parked & running - I tried every climate control setting & speed, everything worked & sounded great
I ran through every gear position and there was no lag or "off" noises
Driving - shifted smooth & didn't hesitate
The "whistle" was kind of like a tea kettle, but like I said, no build or fade
It's time for a new H, hope I posted this in the right place
Cheers,
Tim
