Default Engine valves causing lean condition?

Can a problem with the engine valves cause a lean condition. The car is a 2000 accord, 4 cylinders with 61k miles on it. I'm still chasing a p0171 problem, was told a engine valve adjustment should fix it

lean normally means some sort of vacuum leak causing too much air

i would think you would have a high idle as a result

a quick search for that code turned up this

Idle is normal I believe. At first start it's around 1100 rpms, but then quickly lowers to ~700 rpms.
