i know there are always questions about maintenence lights, but i searched and didnt find anything about, if the light actualy tells if there is somehting wrong, or its just a big gimmick like i heard to make u bring it in to the dealer. . or what. . cxus mine when on it blinks 9 or 10 times whne i starty the car then goes away so im not sure if i should ignore it or not, im at 91k miles, and the 90k mile service was already done at 88k miles. suggestions, ideas or know anything about the light?? thanks

 

press the button under the dash, nix the light. if you already did the service then no point in doing it again.

but to save you some time, theres a blue button underneath the dash right underneath your steering column. Turn the key to power, hold button in until the light goes away, and BAM, its gone!!!

 

Are you talking about the one that's loosely engine-shapes and says "CHECK" or the one that says "MAINTENANCE REQUIRED" or something along those lines?

The check engine light means something's amiss, the maint. req. light can be turned off with the under-dash button as these **** have said. It just means you have to like...change your blinker fluid.

 

lol bite, that would suck, he would come back and complain that it didn't fix it and drive his car around like nothing is wrong.

as for why the search didn't pick anything up, try using the archive as a search area. I, supprisingly, haven't seen a topic on this is a really long time.
