Y7 to Y8 Intake mani swap.
So I’m swapping the y7 intake for a y8. I have read up on it and know most of the process such as swapping throttle bodies and what not. Just wondering if anyone knows where to get an IACV block off for the back of the Y8 intake, or is this something that ya to be fabbed?
Y7 Motor is from the 96-00 civics. Moved the thread to the 92-00 section as you might get better response here than you will from the machinists that are blueprinting and balancing motors.
I really don't think they spend a whole lot of time concerning themselves with block off plates on an intake for a frankenmotor.

I am going the same swap on my 99 Civic LX automatic. I got the head and intake off of a 98 Civic X automatic with the Y8 in it mine has the y7 or it did. Everyone said that everything would be plug-and-play except for the Vtec solenoid and oil pressure solenoid. I am still pulling an eye a VC code though. The car does have a steady idle is far as I can tell I haven't drove it yet because I have a wheel hub at the bearing shop getting pressed.. I have the p2e ECU and will have to pin in the VTech stuff. My AVC connector has two wires on it and it plugs up but as I said I'm still getting a code anyone know anything about this
P505 . The p2e ecu is not vtec. There's no place to hook up vtec or its oil sensor. I would have thought that since the connector hooked up to the iavc that it would work it? Maybe it's bad itself?
Have you checked the OEM parts lists to see if the IACV is the same part number for the Y7 and Y8?
I've seen many times mention of 3 wire versus 2 wire IACV but I do not know the cars this pertains to, but it does give one pause to wonder if the IACV is compatible between the two motors (y7 and Y8).

oh you meant I have to have the wiring harness and ECU out of the e x I thought you meant the intake. So is there a way to make it work with the p2e?
