Hello all... 99 accord idle issue.... Cold start or normal running temperature. Car will idle poorly (200-400 rpm) with a/c on. New alternator, main relay and just about everything else that can be replaced without opening the engine. Plugs wires dist battery etc. Had codes for alternator and low voltage plus alt showing open diode. Replaced ALT cleared codes. Nothing showing yet. Car will also idle similarly on cold start with head lights on. Thinking electronic load detector. Anyone have any other ideas?

 

I had this happen to my 6thgen years ago and it was indeed the load detector. I would get a second opinion from a nearby shop but tell them exactly what you think is going on first. It sounds just like what happened to me.

 

3 shops said 3 different things and i wasn't sure which one to trust. Ill go back to #3 and see for sure. Hopefully its just the eld not the entire fuse box like some models are thank you kindly. Lets try it and if it doesn't work I'll be back for more.
