Another day another problem - Cyl 2&3 Misfire
I have been dealing with some really shitty wiring problems as some may already know from my other thread but have another issue with my a Cylinder 2 and 3 not firing.
Background: 1991 Civic DX Hatch, B20 vtec, Chipped P28, OBD1 Coversion Harness, OBD2 Dizzy, OBD2 Alternator, OBD1 Injectors
First thing I check is do I have spark and I do but it doesn't seem strong. I pulled the injector wires from 3 and the idle doesn't change but I can hear the spark clicking loudly. I pulled the injector wire from cyl 2 and no change in idle and I did hear some faint clicks but didn't seems as strong as wire 2.
I also swapped spark plugs and before running it back into the engine connected the wire and saw I did have spark at the plug as well.
Just to make sure it wasn't an injector issue I also swapped the injector clips around and the issues stays the same.
Next my dizzy wiring and connectors were so messed up that I decided I would bypass the connectors for the moment and solder the wires directly to the harness. I was quite difficult as there are many posts with different charts and colors and I could of easily fucked this up so let me know if the wires are connected wrong would the car start and run but sound like a Subaru?
I am pretty sure I connected the wires correctly now and have a feeling it might be my rotor and cap?
The other thing I noticed is that my Tach is reading what seems to be 1k off. When idle it doesn't move from the lowest point, when i hit the gas it does move but again seems to be about 1k down.
My thoughts were I would fix the female connector and re-attch to my engine harness, then buy a new dizzy ?
