Replace gaskets/oring or the whole vtec unit?

Replace gaskets/oring or the whole vtec unit?
07 accord has 131k miles. Took it to dealer for simple oil change and he told me that the vtec gasket, oring and filter/gasket were all leaking. Should I
a) have the gaskets and o ring replaced OR
b) replace the whole unit - including the gaskets of course (i.e. do the selenoid and plunger ever fail)?
