Default Immobilizer Programmer

I need to replace the ECU on a 2000 Accord. I've ordered a used ECU off of eBay, but I know I'll need to get it programmed to recognize my current keys. Most things I've read online say to go to your local dealer. Well, I called my local dealer and they are trying to charge me $400 to do this. What a bunch of crooks. Our next closest dealer (an hour away) will do it for $110 which is reasonable. However, I'm not sure excited about having to tow this car an hour away just to have this done. So I started looking online and I see these Chinese SSB programmers for not much more which seem like they can program the keys.

Have any of you guys used anything like this? Are there any other decent reasonably priced programmers that would work? Or do I need to just take it to the dealer?

I've still yet to find anyone other than the dealer locally that can do this. Local locksmiths seem to have no idea what I'm talking about, which is surprising since you'd think they would do a lot of this. All of the bigger independent shops I've called refer me to the dealer as well.

Now that I've actually started digging into this car, I'm not 100% certain that it's the ecu instead of the immobilizer. I bought this car from a buddy who had a local independent Honda shop work on it. They were the ones that diagnosed a bad ecu, but supposedly the used replacement they got also didn't work. He got tired of them messing with it, so let me buy it cheap, although when I got it they had taken the column apart and the computer out, but didn't put anything back together. I got it all back together and stuck the factory ecu back in the car, but even with it I get the green flashing light on the dash indicating that it's not recognizing the immobilizer keys. At this point, I'm not sure I want to tow it an hour away, pay them to program it, then possibly have to tow it back again if the replacement ecu I got doesn't fix it. I'm really thinking I'd be better off to spend a few hundred dollars on a programmer that I can use to program it while it's at the house. This way if I have to do it multiple times, I can. So this brings me back to looking at these Chinese programmers. Has anyone used any of these? Or have any recommendations as to which one will work?

if you can get a hold of an hds, sometimes they show up on ebay, and can find a way to get an account to be able to purchases codes, then you can program it yourself
