How did you verify vtech wasn't working?

You’ll have to pull the codes the old fashion way (look in the FAQ above), the reader won’t work on an obd1 ECU. Then post the codes

Hello CivicDave,
I hope you got your issues sorted out and I hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread. New here...so not sure about that stuff.
I jumped on the forum looking for some info on a planned CRX B16a2 swap and have a few questions about the axle shafts and transmission.

What I'm starting with:
89 Honda CRX Si -
D16a6 motor
Syncrotech rebuilt transmission with LSD, upgraded synchros, 4.9 FD and cable clutch (Y1 series - I think)
ProCivic axle shafts level 2.9
OBD1 conversion completed
Road course use only - no on-highway use

Where I am going:
Put the B16a2 motor in the CRX
Mount my transmission from D series to B-series motor
Keep OBD1.
Thinking the 4.9 FD in my transmission should allow 130MPH in 5th gear at 8000 RPM - hoping the pulls are not too short getting to that speed.

My questions about swap:
Is a 90-91 Integra clutch required to mount the Y1 transmission to a B16a6 motor?
If I'm using the Y1 transmission, can I use my high-performance axle shafts? I'm not sure what my options are here?
I see lots of info out there on other details like engine mounts and VTEC wiring and so I think I'm all set in those departments.

Thanks!
Darryl

I bet my last post had some eyes rolling ....
I just found this thread and my plan is falling apart. States a D-series transmission cannot be used in a B-series motor without some form of an adapter plate.

https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-...ranny-2841229/

The error in my research was due to me thinking the current transmissions on the D16a6 was an Y1 . The actual transmission on my D-series is a LS3 , so it's not gonna fit on my D16a6 motor.

I will have to use the transmission that came with the B16a2 motor and see whats involved in connecting my clutch cable to a hydraulic transmission or do some research on the adapter plate.

I'll figure it out..sooner or later.
