1992 Civic VX Hatchback Build (Thread)
Hi guys, I just bought my first ever Honda yesterday, a 1992 civic vx hatchback (2 door)! I am extremely excited about this car, as I got it for $1800. However, you get what you pay for and there is plenty of work to be done!
It came with:
B16A2 motor
GSR 5 speed transmission
Type R Flywheel
Type R Intake
Type R Throttle Body
aftermarket headers (not sure of brand)
aftermarket radiator (not sure of brand)
eBay Exhaust lol
Coil Over sleeves
Pioneer Deck
A/C Delete
The paint is faded on most of the car, and there is markings/drawings on the hood
I bought some steelies and tires off of craigslist for $50 (The guy had me bring my own wheels and tires)
Plans:
Clean the HELL out of the car (The previous owner smoked and left many cigarettes laying around, and other miscellaneous stuff. Right now the thing is gutted so we can clean it properly)
New wheels and tires (Just bought some wheels on eBay for $360, MST M10 15x8 +25 Offset, will get tires from Les Schwab when the wheels come in next week. Will get my wheels mounted and get the car aligned when I am there)
Stabilize the Intake (The type R intake is somewhat just hanging)
New ground cable
New Grille (Was looking at Grillcraft prodcuts)
Euro Taillights (CG)
Upgraded sway bars
Sand down and re-paint the car (Was planning on burgundy)
Regular Maintenance
Long Term Plans:
Eagle Rods
Wiseco Low Comp Pistons
Skunk2 Camshafts
550cc Injectors
New fuel pump
ECU upgrade (Probably Hondata)
P&P Head
Turbo kit (Unsure of turbo atm, and how much boost with this setup would be reliable and fun?)
and of course, a great TUNE!
As you can see, I want to focus on performance once everything else is taken care of. I would LOVE to hear some advice from others, as I am VERY new to all of this!! I want something reliable and fast, and I want to do things the right way to make this thing truly last!

Previous owner swapped odometer with tachometer, he claimed it has around 115K on the motor and about 200K on chassis
There is no serious rust, besides some rust on some lug nuts!
I have uploaded some pictures, can you not see them?
