Default LS/Vtec or no LS/Vtec?

I have a 95 civic with a b18b1 i just swapped. I've been told to do a ls/vtec but then some people say not to. I just wanted to get some of your opinions if you would. Thanks

It also depends on what kind of racing you plan on doing, if any.

Road Race: HELL NO/Don't do it, motor won't take the beating of high rpm's for too long.

Drag race: you can do it, but be mindful of a decent redline or you'll kill it.
