Hey, I couldn't find any clear answers on this but, are the 90-91 Sedan tail light assembly compatible with the 90 DX hatch?

Some people say yes, some say no. I've seen that they are different styles/colors, but is it all plug and play?

Who says they're compatible? It takes 30 seconds googling images to observe the following two issues:
1. The side corners are not the same shape - hatch is much more rounded.
2. The sedan tails to not have reverse lights, as those are in the lid.
I would hope that's clear enough.
