I swapped a low mileage 94 into a 97 accord. The crank sensor is not connected - I used the 94 harness. The check engine light stays on - I haven’t scanned it yet but should I swap the harness from the 97 engine so that I can connect the crank sensor? Or is there a simpler fix?
Easier to run new wires for the CKF than to replace the whole harness IMO
You can do the CKF bypass but then you lose the ignition tuning strategy OBD2 ecus use. Your ecu advances the timing until it senses knock, then backs off slightly. Perfect timing. With the bypass it will max out the allowed timing advance and never sense anything wrong.
You most likely have both the TDC and CKP sensors unhooked at the moment. Surprised it even runs with them disconnected.
The 94-95 OBD1 engine harness is actually much shorter and easier to install then the 96-97 OBD2 harness. The CKP, TDC and CYP sensors are all located in the distributor on the 94-95 OBD1 engines. While the TDC and CKP are located way down on the oil pump housing on the OBD2 engines.

So should I change the harness and distributor back to the 97?
Seriously? you say it's easier to pull the crank pulley, drop the oil pan and swap the oil pump housing than it is to swap a couple wires and connectors?
I am doing almost the same thing right now but 1994 f22b2 replaced with 1997 f22B2. I noticed the cps on the bottom of the 97 and just removed it. The entitre wiring harness is identical except for the cps from what i have seen.
