Hey yall, first time being here. Recently bought a 1990 honda accord dx and knew the clutch was going out. Clutch ended up going all the way out and was speed shifting until my linkage broke. Long story short I got a transmission off of ebay a new clutch and a new shift linkage and got everything put in. Mechanic said he test drove the car and it was ready to go. Come to find out it was making a whining sound and a rattling noise just when accelerating. Was also popping out of 5th. Then started popping out of 3rd. Didn't think to much of it just figured I'd take it back and let dude fix it. Was going through town in second gear and heard a loud bang. Scared the hellmouth of me and my girlfriend lol but I threw it in neutral an rolled into a parking lot. It was fine in neutral but when I shifted into gear it made a loud clanking noise. It would still barely move if I worked the clutch right (just to get it into a parking spot) really need to find out what it might be. Thanks in advance

 

did you fill the tranny up with Honda manual transmission fluid ?

 

Not real sure if my mechanic did or not, there was some rattling and whining going on while accelerating and would stop when I pressed in the clutch

 

it could have a bad input shaft bearing on top of the fact that it might not have had enough fluid, if any
