Forged internals or valve tap?
So I have a b18c1 with a B16a Head, bored out to about 2.0 with golden eagle rods, pistons and sleeves. I made a post about the piston knock on start up which sounds almost like a diesel until it warms up. That I believe is normal for worked motors and I’m not too worried until it goes away. However after it’s warm and I’ve been driving I hear like a ticking noise when idling and when I give it gas. Would this be valve tick or engine knock or just another forged internal noise?
It's hard to convey the sound you're hearing through your text description. Try posting a video with the noise if you can. If it was a knock it's likely that you would have known already. A knock is more of a deep thud than a ticking noise. Could be valves, injector tick, forged internal noise, etc. I can say that it's possible to hear noise from forged internals even after the vehicle is warmed up. It depends on your piston-to-wall clearance. If it was built really loose then you'll likely always hear it. Anything over or around .004 PTW is usually fairly noisy especially if the pistons have a short, non-coated skirt.
From what I could hear(which wasn't much) it sounded like detonation. Sounded like more of a high pitch pinging than knocking or tapping. Hopefully someone else will chime in if their ears heard something else. Has the car been tuned? I would pull the plugs and check for signs of detonation first.
It’s a GSR map with added fuel. I have an air fuel gauge that read fine until I tried doing my exhaust and it sat at 14.8, then I replaced the sensor with a different connector but it did attach and it reads then goes a little rich then goes full lean. But it never moves so I doubt I could be running that lean out of nowhere
You said the engine was built though. What's the compression? Too much ignition timing relative to the compression ratio will have disastrous results regardless of air fuel ratio.
I’m not sure if that he compression at the moment. I’m starting to thinknits more related to spark plugs. I did change them and I know they were identicle in size but I might put the old ones back in and see if that fixes it. The car wasn’t running much before for other reasons and I changed the plugs then and I just got back to driving it. Plus I feel like the ticking isn’t kore on the right side so maybe a plug got messed up

So I swapped plugs and it still makes that tap sound. I was told it’s piston slap from the internals all being aftermarket. It is way more noticeable at startup but goes away about 90%. And as I accelerate I hear it faintly but seems to go away but I might just not hear it over my
exhaust. However I got my AF gauge to work and at idle I’m at a or 12.5 and acceleration maybe 15 at open throttle, 12-13 coasting, and WOT I’m at 12ish as well. I’m afraid im

1. Sounds like your rings were gapped too lose
2. Valvetrain can also cause ticking under certain situations, but based on what you describe it sounds like the rings. And no, it's not normal or necessarily "ok" for a built engine to tick like that.
3. I couldn't get the sound to work in the video. I saw someone mentioned detonation - this typically will sound almost like aluminum foil being crumpled from the engine bay. It has a rather distinct noise. Almost always caused by pre ignition, too much timing.
4. It sounds like you need a tune, which I would recommend ASAP.

This one is more what I’m talking about. This is after going for a drive and it being fully warmed up before hand. I do want to get her tuned ASAP just to be safe. I was told it’s a GSR basemap with added fuel. I have hondata, is there anyway I can look into this further? Im very new to Hondata and want to learn how to use it better
