I have a 2001 cr-v 180k, Automatic trans. the car starts well and idles smoothly with no misfires. When I put the car in gear, there is not much power and it gets worse when it warms up, The engine rpms wont go above 2000 while in drive. Once the transmission shifts out of first gear, the rpms will go beyond 2000 rpms and driving becomes somewhat normal the transmission shifts fine but from a complete stop, acceleration is very very slow because the engine seems to have no power in first gear. When in park, the engine revs with no hesitation and when driving in any gear but first pressing the gas pedal cause the car to downshift and the engine will go to 4000 rpms or more.

When I put the car in drive, and press the gas pedal, the rpms won't go above 2000 rpms. I have another crv from the same year and if I hold the brake on that while in gear and give it gas, the rpms go way above 2000 and I can "feel" the car trying to move.

There is no check engine light and no codes pending.
