Default '91 CRX stuck in park

I've already replaced (and correctly aligned) the brake light switch as per one of my [more mechanically inclined] older brothers suggestion as well as everything I've read online so far. That wasn't the issue and it still gets stuck in park. If I drive it continuously for at least an hour or more, it will shift freely in and out of park without a problem. However, once it cools down, I have to slip a key into the shift lock release in order to get it out of park (it will shift through all other gears just fine). My other brother suggested the neutral safety switch could be the problem, but I can not find anything at all anywhere on the internet, in any of my manuals, nothing about the NSS anywhere. I'm not really sure what else to look for, can anyone offer me any help? (car is an automatic)

so your looking to bypass the nss ?
doing this will make it so you can go threw your gears even with the key not in the ignition switch
so just as long as you never forget to put the car in park then you should be fine because after you bypass this switch
you will be able to turn the car off and remove the key in any gear

to bypass the nss is rally easy...ish haha
first you have to remove the cover that goes around your gear selector

2 once thats done you will see the harness that goes to your gear selector
in that harness you will see two big black wires

3 all you have to do is find a way to connect them together so that there always connected
you can cut and solder together
you can make a connect/disconnect type thing
you can make a loop with another wire that connects the two

all that matters is that there both connected to eachother and thats it
these two wires connect to eachother when you put your car in park
but what happens after 28 years is that the metal on your gear lever gets old and dirty and doesnt make that connection anymore
thats why you get problems like this

so give it a go and let me know how it went ^_-
goodluck

I just didn't know where it was and couldn't really find the info I needed. Did another Google search last night for the 100th time and now I'm miraculously finding info I can use. Maybe my Google skills just aren't as good as I thought, lol. (i'm also pretty new to working on cars) Nevertheless, thanks for the help! This car was (and still is) pretty crusty and gross when I got it, so it's not surprising when I discover something else that doesn't work.
