Hey, I just got a J35 swap into my integra, I'm having issues with my alternator though, Apparently it's not holding a charge, or maybe it is....

Once i crank it and it starts it's all good, but if i were to do something else like run compression tests, cranking it a bit, I finish up and try to crank it but it wont, and my battery volts read 12.7-11.3 range or so...

But once car is on(once i do get it to start sometimes) it reads 14.3ish and it goes down to 14.0 when i rev a little....Is this normal? I thought it was supposed to be a steady 14.6 or whatever.

Harness is from a 99-02 Accord, I have AEM 6051, as the instructions read though the alternator slot is "Not used"....so I'm a bit confused lol..... ELD is in Connector A 31? or soemthing like that i forgot, I need to know which wire from alternator goes into the AEM...

Car drives decent on partial throttle but bogs when i give it about 45% gas....I assume it's not enough voltage to pick up higher speeds....Really frustrating, If anyone has an idea where i can go from let me know...

I want to get it properly running then in the far future hopefully turbo it lol. No Error in Sensors tab.

 

 

check you grounds on the engine harness

 

I moved one of my grounds from Valve cover to Transmission, it helped!

My main issue were my coils, I went to junkyard and grabbed a good looking set for 20 bucks haha, Car fires up but bogs a bit one take off, I drove it around a bit to get gas, couldn't go past 3k, Suddenly i could go past 4k, then when i was rechecking my fuel tables and taking some out a bit ( AFR was reading 7-8) it was rumbling pretty well.

Question, What size gauge wire is best for a J series? i was thinking 8 gauge wire... so far i only got a puny wire from my previous 4 cylinder and one giant wire to my transmission.

Just clean it up, sand it down, and bolt it down good.

 

Thank you for the reply, I got it all sorted and figured out, I grounded mains and added a few extra, car is running and driveable now, but only issue i have is my fuel regulator gauge is stuck at 40- no matter how much i turn the **** or back out, it stays at 40...What could cause this?...

 

Pull the vacuum hose, does it change?
