Default Why shouldn't I use a crv for an exo build?

What if I wanted to build an awd exo on the cheap?

Here in GA, the laws seem to be fairly liberal in certain counties, so headlights and tail lights and you're street legal...

I think I'd like double wishbones up front and something like the older crv might make sense for a budget build.

I'm also looking at the 2005-2008 SH-AWD RL as a starting point, but the crv ticks all the boxes and while it might start off with less power, I feel that the aftermarket is going to make up for it.
