Default ASR Subframe Brace Compatible W/ ST Rear Sway Bar

Hello all,

I recently purchased a "Suspension Techniques Rear Sway Bar" for my 1990 Honda Civic EF, I was looking into purchasing an "ASR Rear Sub-Frame Brace" as I've noticed when the EF's are track raced they tend to have rear sub frame tear out, especially when a larger than OEM sway bar is installed.

Could someone tell me if there will be any interference when installing this brace? Preferably someone that has the combination already.

Thanks,
Nick

asr wont help with the kind of rear subframe tear out that happens on EFs. its totally different than EG/EK/DC due to the way the sway is mounted.

in other words, the ASR brace is a boat anchor on an EF.

tear out happens on an EF because of using sticky race tires. not the swaybar. the tear is at the top of the subframe.

Doesn't the ST sway bar come with chassis mounts already to suit? You could probably run the ST sway bar on the ASR brace but it'd imagine the endlinks might not line up to the LCA.

Never heard of this being a problem with EFs. With DCs it's a known issue. I'm guessing you might get more of a response if you post this under the road race thread.

It does, it mounts up really well but mine rubs my exhaust. Been thinking of taking it off and running the stocker as I don't really need a rear sway.

Great info, didn't think it would line up well.

Oh sorry, I was talking about using the mounts that come with the ST sway. Don't know how it would work with the ASR brace.
