Which EGR valve
I was about to order a replacement EGR valve for my 2001 Honda Accord. Then I noticed there is a "pin" model and a "flange" model. Are these the same thing and, if not, how do I tell which kind I need?
can you share some information about what it is you are looking at.... I.E. part numbers and such I4 or V6? you really give us nothing to help you with.
Just out of curiosity, why is it that you need a new EGR valve? It is only on a very rare occasion that I have seen one fail that couldn't be cleaned and reinstalled.

It's a V6.
I thought to replace it because we have done the clean and reinstall route once before. That lasted a while but then the engine warning/TCS lights started coming on again. I took it to the auto parts store and they put it on their computer and confirmed it was an EGR valve problem but not an emergency.
So I just figured we'd get a new one but I went to order it online and saw the pin versus flange language in the part descriptions. Maybe those are parts of the same valve? I don't know.
I guess I could take it to the auto parts store again and see what they say I should order but I thought someone here would know.
Thanks.

Well without knowing the exact codes that the auto parts store pulled form your ECU. It's hard to determine what is wrong with your EGR system. There are a couple different error codes that correspond to the that system.
I have never seen part numbers based on "pin" vs "flange" can you post a link or part number to the items you are referring to please. Thank you!

EGR valve's will outlast your vehicle. I have never heard of one actually failing. The only thing you will ever need to do is to clean the pintle in the event that the pintle is sticking.
This is likely all that's going to be needed depending on the code that is being thrown.
