Anyone have a 96-00 hatch with the rear half gutted and soemthing back there rattles like a *****? First I thought it was my exhaust vibrating against the bumper because Minake can't seem to put **** on straight so I had another hanger tacked on to make it a little stiffer and straighten it out. That was't it and actually made the problem worse. I had a guy ride back there and he thought it was coming from the shock tower? The nuts that hold the strut assembly together were a tad loose so I tightened them but that wasn't the fix either?

Please help!

 

My back half is gutted. I don't have any vibrations when driving normally, but my hatch rattles on big bumps. Does it only happen when you hit a bump/pothole?

i have a 92 cx, beleive me your car prolly dont rattle as loud as mines does.....
i have coilovers and they rattle like a **** and on top of that i have some low profile tires that makes it even worse!

also my back half is gutted aslo....

check the strut mount. I had the same problem in my 97 hatch.

 

B96v6: Not really just over holes and such. Mainly at certain RPM's. Took my tach out but guessing around 3,000 or so, maybe a little higher.

Spade: A pretty serious vibration, thought for sure it was the hatch but investigation says probly not.

blackctr: Confused? I know the nuts that hold the strut to the tower are tight, and I just checked to make sure the nuts holding the spring/shock assembly together were tight.

 

i had this problem..check the bolt that they added for the hanger..the place i went to ADDED another hanger..and it seemed the bolt was JUSt shy of the hole they made so it would rattle around and i couldnt tighten the bolt cuz it would slip...check ur bolts for ur hangers i had the same problem...i just ended up taking it out cuz it wasnt stock and it was pissing me off

 

Yeah I will go check it out. Seeing as how it got significantly worse after the new hanger that could very well be the problem. I'll let you know.

when my car rattles like a **** i just wanna sell that shiet or frikin kick it..it is so annoyin.

 

Mine rattles like a ****. Happens when your shti is stripped. You might want to check the side moldings on the car. Mine is loose and makes hella rattling noises. You can also hook up a sub and play some bass mekaniks to find the problem.

 

Ha, I had so much **** that rattled when I had a good system. Maybe my car hates me for selling it so it rattles just despite me. I don't really mind all that much but takin' women on a date can be very embarasing!

 

Kudos! Although the bolt was tight the rubber bushing had a little slack and the hanger was ratteling around inside.

rattles are a bitch, try having a del sol when the top squeeks constently, its amazing how much your car flexs when driving and you dont even know it

 

my shifter rattles from vibes @ low throttle, now thats freakin anoyying
