So I got this car about a year ago and I've had no problems with the speakers or anything. Then last week I'm pretty sure that my speaker may have blown out. It smelled like something was burning and then it just started rattling anytime I played anything with some bass to it. I assumed it would be and easy fix so I ordered a new speaker with new connectors, and once I plugged everything in the new speaker is rattling. So now I have no idea what to do. Anyone know how I could fix this?

 

if the new speaker is fine, then i would suspect something right around the speaker may have came loose and is causing the noise. take the speaker back out and verify that there is nothing close to it that could rattle when the bass pumps. you could also try to use something to insulate the speaker to rule out bad mounting as well, could just be vibrating because there is a space between the speaker and the mounting surface.
