Honda Civic intermittent temperature fluctuation
I have a 2004 Honda Civic Ex coupe automatic with 156,000 miles . About a week and a half ago I was driving to work (about 1 hour from my home ) got about 10 min away and I looked down and my temperature gauge was almost at the H . I parked and turned off the car and had it taken to my mechanic. ( first time this has happened in this car ) He said the thermostat was bad .. they test drive it and said they couldn’t figure out why it was overheating. The thermostat was melted on one side so that’s what made the most sense he replaced the thermostat . Fast forward about 4 days (car has driven fin since ) even drove today and it as fine .. had a 30 min drive home stopped and got gas .. turned my car back on and literally 5 min later while driving it went up to the H again .. however when I turned my A/c on cold it slowly went down .. normally I thought when you turn the ac on it can actually make the engine hotter .. I’m not really sure what’s going on ... “air bubbles somewhere” bad fan thermostat? It’s hasnt shown any other signs .. can a new thermostat cause any fluctuations in the temperature? Because afterbit was fixed I drove it for about 4 days with no problem and then tonigjybit decides to do it again .. any suggestions would be very helpful ..
