Working on a 1st gen CRV with OEM factory fog lights. The 2 pin connector to the lights only have ground and no power (headlights on, fog light switch on).
The oem fog switch has 3 wires leading to it.
Black- ground
Red w/ White - Power 12 volts when headlights are on.
Red w/ Yellow - Unsure ? not voltage, not ground. Suppose output
Does anyone have a wiring diagram of the layout? I'm unsure where the fog light relay is located. I'd like to retain the factory switch if possible and get these working again. Thanks
Re: OEM CRV Foglights Not Working, No Power to Lights
The fog light switch wiring are:
Red/White: Power (+) via headlight combo switch when headlights are on
Blk: Ground from G20.
Red/Yel: When fog light switch is ON, power (+) from the Red/White wire goes through the switch contacts to the Red/Yel wire
Red/Yel wire from fog light switch provides power (+) to the fog light relay to energizes the relay coil. When the relay coil is energized via power (+) and ground (-), it closes the relay contacts and send power (+) from Under-hood Fuse No. 54 via a Wht/Blu wire connect to and through the relay, to the fog lights.
The fog light relay should be attached next to the under-dash fuse box, on the left.

Thanks for the info. It's been a while but finally had a chance to get back to this.
The switch is working. I found the relay and swapped with another. It did not fix the problem. I can jump the 2 pins on the relay and the lights will come on. Do you know which fuse is #54 under the hood? Or have a diagram? They are not numbered like the under dash fuse box. Nearly every fuse I checked under the hood was good however.
Re: OEM CRV Foglights Not Working, No Power to Lights
1. Which 2 pins for the relay did you jump? If you jumped the Wht/Blu wire pin to the Blu/Red wire pin, that means power and the wiring from under-hood Fuse No. 54 is good and the wiring to the fog lights are good.
2. To narrow down the problem, with the headlight switch and the fog light switch both turned on, is there power at the Red/Yel wire going to the relay? If yes, both switch are okay and the wiring is okay on that side.
3. If the power side is okay (Wht/Blu and Red/Yel), then the issue is the ground going to the relay.

Switch is working.
Test results from relay (4 wire connections):
Black = continuity to ground at all times
Red/Yellow = 12 volts only when fog light switch is on.
Blue/Red = Continuity to ground at all times
White/Blue = Nothing. No power, no continuity when switch on or off.
I can jump Red/Yel and Blue/Red with the switch on, the relay removed, and the fog lights will operate.
Does White/Blue run from the headlight combo stalk switch?
Trying to download service manual for wiring schematic...Still curious where fuse #54 is for reference.
Re: OEM CRV Foglights Not Working, No Power to Lights
Under-hood Fuse No. 54 (40A) feeds power through a Wht/Red wire to the under-dash fuse box. From the under-dash fuse box, it feeds a white wire through an in-line fuse (15A) located near the under-dash fuse box, and then through the Wht/Blu wire to the foglight.
Under-hood Fuse No. 54 is always hot; so, the Wht/Blu wire should always have power. Your problem is on this side of the relay.
Just for info: The way the normally open fog light relay works:
1. When you turn on both the headlight switch and fog light switch, power(+) goes Red/Yel wire on the coil side of the relay.
2. The Blk wire provides the ground (-) on the coil side of the relay.
3. With both power (+) and ground (-) on the relay coil, the relay contact side closes, which allows the separate/different power (+) source from under-hood Fuse No. 54 from the Wht/Blu wire to go through the relay to the Blu/Red wire to provide power to the fog lights.

Re: OEM CRV Foglights Not Working, No Power to Lights
Wish I knew about that in line fuse earlier...
Got it sorted out, the in line fuse was blown. There was no listing of the fuse on the interior fuse box unfortunately. Thanks for the reference photo. I tried attaching a pic as well in the post above but it turned out cloudy for some reason...
Heads up for others, You have to remove the driver lower dash trim to access the fuse. The fuse door has now been updated to indicate the fog light fuse for future reference. Excited for winter with working fog lights
Re: OEM CRV Foglights Not Working, No Power to Lights
Since I learned nearly the entire fog light circuit for a fuse replacement lol, I decided to modify the circuit to make it all worthwhile and enjoy now independent fog light control. The lights will turn on as long as the ignition is on. And I don't have to have the headlights on along with the fogs. I will now longer rely on that in line fuse that is buried in the dash. Attached pics for reference. I cut the Red/White wire leading to the switch and ran a jumper wire from the 2nd from left terminal on the interior fuse box.
Hopefully this is helpful for others wishing to do the same. I would assume the CRV circuit is nearly identical to an EK civic circuit as well...

Re: OEM CRV Foglights Not Working, No Power to Lights
my rear fog light is off. i checked the bulb ( ok) , the fuse ( no 20 in european model) , so this can only be the switch. Could you confirm this is a switch that should stay clenched when it is on ? mine is just a contact , and come back immediatly . but doe not stay on ( nor is backligthed, when it was) ..
Re: OEM CRV Foglights Not Working, No Power to Lights
ok, I found it. that was the switch, which is also a relay. and , for the record, the fuse in european vehicule is no 20 ( assigned differently in us cars and docs)
