F22B swap on race car
My 94 accord lx auto currently has a f22b2 and I just picked up a f22b dohc. I don’t care about CEL it just needs to run and run right. I plan on using the auto f22b tranny, I know that will hinder me but until I swap it, it’s staying. Do I need to switch wiring harness or ecu? What can I block off and not worry about (like egr)? Will my intake and distributor work on this new engine(it didn’t come with either)? I’m not even running alternator, ac, or power steering, so that’s not a concern, main concern is the ecu and swappable parts. Thanks
ECU will run it. Distributor and wiring will be different, intake and exhaust will not swap ether. You will need F22A1-6 / H23A1 (90-93 Accord, SOHC/DOHC Non VTEC Prelude) intake and exhaust manifolds. The DOHC F22B swap would be similar to doing an H23A1 swap. If I remember correctly there is a bit of information in the FAQ. if not CB7Tuner.com will have some Non VTEC DOHC swap information that will be the same for the OBD1 CD5 chassis.

Yes it does. The VTEC H23A uses the same head as the H22A engine. The Non VTEC H23A uses the same head design as the F22B. It has to do with port geometry and getting everything to line up best.
thanks a lot. I’m having trouble finding non-vtec stuff online but I’ll keep looking! You are a lot of help. This swap is only happening once the f22b2 gives out so it could be awhile. Gives me time to gather things.
