Default Ball joint stud too narrow for FLCA?

hello everyone!!

I just got alloy front lower lower control arms and Ktuned Upper control arms and getting this thing aligned. But they just called and said the lower ball joint stud is too narrow for the lower control arm. Do they make different sizes that someone is aware of? Or has someone run into this issue that can help with a solution.

thanks in advance!

Did the LCA come with a steel sleeve to house the ball joint? It should.

Maybe you're missing some parts. Or the shop is very bad at most things.

The info on type of car and brand of LCA will also help.

It did and they are on.

Issue is is there is too much up and down play like the nut is bottomed out and won’t hold the LCA tight. Will have to see if non autozone ball joint has a shorter stud or more threads ???

No...something is wrong with the parts or the install.

An autozone OE replacement ball joint isn't going to be dimensionally different than stock

Duralast one has longer threads and rod is just a hair bigger, guess this teaches me not to go for cheapest option...FML

the guy said it was an updated version, the one that looks strange is a Duralast and the other one is a valuecraft. They didn’t have 2 of them so I went to NAPA and they had TX something ones. That stud was actually shorter than even the AZ one. So I got them on today, it feels good. Drove it around, I’ll jack it up tomorrow and see if everything is still tight. Just strange how the same damn part can be so different from manufacture to manufacture. Moog I was told is the best. Fingers crossed that every thing is good and I can align it tomorrow.

you clearly don't understand.

the left is a lower, the right is an upper ball joint.

Also, I'd chime in that duralast balljoints are known to fail overtime. I prefer to either use higher end (Japanese mfg?) Moog or OEM for that stuff.
