Icon5 NGK Wires and OEM Plugs? problematic ?

I've read post after post regarding errors coming up after replacing their wires and Plugs with NGK. I don't know if their is a problem with this combo , but it seems like it is consistent with misfire and idle. What do you think?

I have never had any issues with them. Bosch and other brands on the other hand, a lot of issues.

Strange that you seem to have read post after post regarding errors using this equipment. I'm sure if you Google issues with NGK those are the only threads that will come up. Can you site some examples please? I have been on this forum for 11 years and rarely ever see issues with NGK or Denso parts on Honda's. Other than user error or out of the box part failure, the latter is not very common.

What seems to be your specific issue with these parts?

I've never had a problem in running ngk plugs or wires. In the last 12 years I've had 3 hondas, (2 5th gen accords, 1 5th gen civic). I've used denso and ngk plugs and if anything simply an improvement over getting the car without them. Also have used ngk wires without any issues plus the blue looks snazzy to boot.

I agree the blue does look good I just was reading all the 1399s and including idle issues I could swear quite a few just change tgeir Wires lol. It’s due to that’s the first remedy on the mark.

Sumitomo and NGK plugs would be my No.1 choice.
NGK wires and NGK plugs are my No.2 choice. I have installed them with out issues when Sumitomo wires were not in stock.

Never run into a DTC P1399 with new component NGK installs over the past 27 years. So to answer your question No. there are no common issues with NGK wires or plugs.

Am I to assume that your check engine light has come on and you have pulled a DTC P1399. Is this after a new component install?

OP, have you replaced your smoking catalytic converter yet?

Failed cat code + rough idle/open throttle to maintain idle with little to no exhaust out the tail pipe = clogged cat!
