Default D16Z6 swap on 96 ek

I’m trying to figure out all the stuff I need for my swap on my 1996 Honda Civic coupe. I’ve been reading and a lot of people recommend a y8 harness with y8 injectors and a p28 ECU which I already have. I’m just not sure what else I would need other than the harness and injectors. Wouldn’t I need a different alternator bc of the different plugs? I’m in need of some help from anyone and i would really appreciate it lol

Why not just get a D16Y8 complete engine/tranny and be done with?

Unless you plan to boost it or something, I don't really see a point in swapping in a D16z6 when you already have a D16y8. They practically have the same output.
Even if you plan to boost it, you will have to open it up unless you are satisfied with sub-par 200 hp and drive pretty mild like me. I hit redline maybe once a month?
If you still plan to do it, you can just get the motor and swap in parts from your Y8 (Distributor and Throttle Body) and keep the same wiring. You will retain OBD2 and the computer probably would not notice anything different.
Now if you plan to go OBD1, you would need a jumper harness, the P28 and the Z6. You can still use your transmission from your Y8. I believe the shift forks in the Y8 are of better material than the Z6. The thread that confirms the transmission will be hard to find. It has been a couple years.
