Swap the throttle body D15B motor to D16y motor
Hi,I have a honda civic 00 LX with a D16y motor and A/T transmission, the motor had a overheat and damaged the entire motor and I bought JDM D15B motor, and runs well the only problem is that the idle is at 1500 rpm and I did check everything possible problems like IAC valve ,vacuum hoses ,Intake gasket ,throttle body gasket and the timing and everything fine but still with the problem , do I need swap the throttle body also the only different is that the JDM D15B throttle body has a hose tube at the back .
You should try to keep using the parts that were original to the car and just swap the block and head out. But there is something about the 1999-2000 manifolds with the extra air holes above the injectors not matching most heads. I don't remember if that means you can't use an old head with a new manifold or a new head with an old manifold though. Anyway if that is happening to you you'd have an air leak where the manifold meets the head, not at the throttle body.
Take the air filter off and block the holes in the side of the throttle body before the throttle plate, that should slow down and stall the engine. If the engine keeps running with the holes blocked, find out where the air is coming in.
Also check that all the hoses are connected, sensors are plugged in correctly, and there are no ECU codes.
