Auto to Manual + B20 conversions..Car Jerks Low Gear
1995 Civic EX coupe B20/LS head and LS transmission swapped. Car was originally an automatic transmission and swapped to LS manual. Prior owner did all swaps.
Since I purchased this car a year ago it' sporadically bucks and jerks during low-gear (mostly,1st) acceleration and/or deceleration. I'm pretty confident that this is due to the automatic to manual motor/transmission mounts is used combined with the lack (none) of torque mounts. It's usually just mildly annoying but sometimes when it bucks hard it's frustrating.
Anyone else with similar swaps/setups experience this?
I will say that when shifting into second or third gear that there is no lack of response (in a good way) for torque to be applied to wheels...it grabs into gear quickly.
Re: Auto to Manual + B20 conversions..Car Jerks Low Gear
First gear tends to buck even on the stock motors. Usually after letting off the gas in first and then giving it gas it bucks fierce. I got into the habit of just re-clutching to smooth it out. But always a first gear problem.
With your swap, the extra torque may be causing the issue more often like on decel.
Just get in the habit of clutching again in first gear.

Thanks for replying.
Already in that habit..lol.
I previously owned a '98 EX stock manual and it bucked as well..just not as hard as this one. I'm thinking about ordering a front tag for it that has a picture of an Irish Setter and I will have the name Bucky enscribed. I had a childhood irish setter dog named Bucky so it seems fitting. Bucky
