Odd SRS anomaly, at least for me
So I have a SRS light on a 2002 Accord EX. I do the light reset process with a paperclip numerous times that failed until I happened to do it with the seat belt buckled and the reset process worked. The light goes out. I repeated this a couple times with the same result. In normal use it turns out that as long as I buckle up before starting the car and turn off the car before I unbuckle then no SRS light. As soon as I unbuckle with the car running, the SRS pops on and stays on.
Follow-Up: For several weeks I have buckled up before starting the car and turned off the car before I unbuckled and the SRS never turned on. Then day before yesterday I pulled up to a gas pump and unbuckled before I turned off the car and when I started up to leave the station, the SRS light was on. This morning I went thru the SRS light reset process and the light turned off. I drove around and made several stops but with the buckle just snapped in behind me in the seat and the light never came on.
Beats me what's going on but I guess my work around to live with the issue is to always buckle up before I start the car and turn it off before I unbuckle. And should I happen not to do this to cause the SRS light to turn on, I'll just have to do the reset process. Uggghhhhh....

The scanners I own -- Actron CP9135, and OBD2 Bluedriver and apps for ELM327 -- do not read SRS codes. I only see the SRS light. With the car running, the light will come on if I merely unbuckle just like the seat belt warning light would.
My front retractor and seat belt has a sensor that tripped my SRS a while back. It did something similar, but finally the SRS stayed on . I ended up switching out the front seat belt, and receiver too. The retractor part more, cause it wasn't rolling it back up that much.
why not "do a little more research" on Amazon and simply purchase an ..?

Well, I said I already have three scanner tools and now I recall I have a 4th expensive VAG COM for my VW. I simply have devices that don't read SRS codes for the Honda I have but if the lamp will reveal the code, then that's good enough for me to not have to buy yet another scanner.
Take it to the dealer. The seat belts are warranted for life (at least for my 2000), so they will replace the seat belt if that is the problem. Make sure they will check the SRS for free, given your symptoms.
Nah, no warranty's. You can spend money to argue your point of veiw in a court, a point of veiw that doesn't matter when you leave the room anyways. Defeat them by taking them out of your loop. When the police come, don't answer the door if you cannot afford it. The world will go away. You can head West. Then North. Kill em all , eye fer an eye.
I see skies of blue, Red roses too.

"U.S. Models Honda provides a lifetime warranty on seat belts. Honda will repair or replace any seat belt component that fails to function properly during normal use. Please see your Honda Warranty Information booklet for details."
I just had my seatbelt replaced free of charge about 2 weeks ago on my 2000. Talk to your dealer.
