3500 rev limiter please help
Hi guys recently brought a 98 hatchback manual transmission with a b18b1 swap when I got it she had a number of issues and I’ve fixed most of them I’m down to code p1660 cooling fan which I can’t fix I had to require a manual switch and then the iat sensor high voltage but I just read that I need to relocate the sensor into the intake arm not the manifold. Those are the only two codes it’s pulling but it bounces of the limiter at 3500rpm I’ve checked all fuses reset the ecu etc sorry it’s got a p75 ecu btw please share any knowlage on the issue
Ok if a cam was out would it not run rough or lumpy? And ok I hope moving the iat sesnor will clear that code and god knows what I’ll do about the Coplin fam one
There doesn't seem to be such a thing as "P1600". Are you sure that's the right number?
If the timing belt is off by a tooth, generally it will still run smooth, but slow.

1660 is an auto transmission code; ECU failure to communicate with TCM (which is not surprising since a manual car doesn't have one). Seems like you have the wrong ECU? I think they continued the same numbering system where the second digit in the third group of numbers on the ECU part number is < 5 for manual and >= 5 for automatic.

Moving the IAT will not change anything. An auto LS ECU requires an external transmission controller, so it is likely that you have the wrong ECU. You will need a manual ECU... 37820-P75-A02 is your part number.
The IAT code could be because the sensor plugs are mis-plugged. Identify all sensor plugs by wire color, and confirm they are plugged into the correct parts. There is no mechanical keying to keep someone from plugging the 2 or 3 wire plugs into the wrong things.
