I have a b16 turbo with a gsr head. Forged internals, looking to run a borg warner s256 with it. Looking to hit around the low 400s. Looking for suggestions on a turbo exhaust manifold. Sadly im a college student and dont have the most money to dump on a manifold... I know cheap isnt the way to go.. Not many ways to say this, but whats the cheapest manifold i can run to support my goal power. I had people tell me log manifold should be fine but i would like suggestions from people who have had experience. Thanks guys.
Yes, cast log manifolds can do well with that power level. The question is which turbine housing configuration that you have, and what accessories are you looking to keep with it. (A breakdown of your engine type and size, with a few photos would really help here. )
Most cast constructed manifolds are geared to use 5-bolt Ford-Style turbine housings. If you got your S256 with a 5-bolt/4-bolt pattern on the turbine housing, you should be ok. But if you don't, tubular logs can work, but finding one may be slightly difficult. (but, IMHO it's the better option overall)
Post more information up, so that we can help more thoroughly.
I agree. Get a .63 housing for it ( search borg warner s200 7670 housing not efr) and a cast mani and your golden. The non ported shroud s256 not net new s200sxe will probably work with the spa top mount manifold its cheap and people hit good numbers with it.

Just finished the head last night, about to bolt the head down when i get a nice torque wrench, heres some pictures of the goods🤗.
Anyways, its a completely stock gsr head. The block is a b16a with 9:1 wiseco pistons 81.5mm, eagle rods, stock crank.
Running a oem headgasket.
setup is for mostly street fun, but also can play at the track.
i also havent ordered my turbo, but from research I saw that the S256 would fit my build the best, also taking suggestions on that.
I make 400 with a inline pro manifold and a batmowheel b252 which is based on the s252 so you should be fine.
imo look at the better designed logs like go autoworks stocks. I'm sure you can find that same manifold elsewhere if you look hard enough.
double check your exhaust housing to make sure it can accommodate a 4 bolt downpipe like Shodan said, my turbo had both the 5 bolt and 4 bolt bolt paterns and needed to use the 4...should look like this
Hey sorry for the late response, I posted pictures and still haven't been approved Anyways I'll post this and when it comes up I have some pictures of the build :D
Its a b16a 81.5mm 9:1 wiseco
and oil pump.
In a eg coupe. Mostly for street fun, also some track use on the weekends.
Again around low 400's whp, Getting it tuned @ Slowmotion motorsports in ohio.
Also for the
, I was looking around and saw that the s256 probably fits my build the best, but i'd also like to hear recommendations from you. Not sure on the housing but, Balor said .63
S256 come with some awkward t3 holse t4 drilled housings.
You can used th t4 divided for a divided setup but your budged will skyrocket.
Or you can get a T3 housing and call it a day using a normal t3 housing. Like this. http://www.theboostlab.com/borg-warn...rbine-housing/
Bullseye has ss .55 housing that MIGHT work but their webpage has craped .

corey still tuning at slowmotion. Havent heard that name since the ohiohondas days. Nearly ten years ago.

Actually, that's a 4-bolt / 5-bolt. It accommodates both housings. I remember working with the BEP team on these back in 2003-2004.
I had an S256 Bullseye a long while back that I purchased used with some bad seals. Once I had the turbo rebuilt, cleaned up, and ceramic coated it looked like a really nice turbo. It ended up being used on a Datsun 240z platform and if I remember right made a comfortable ~415WHP. Was a nice unit for what it was, oil cooled journal bearing. I know the owner ran it on 18-low 20PSI for several months before I lost contact with him, he seemed happy with it.
The EFR7670 is even larger than S257. Remember Vryantec this is a B16, not a K20 or F20C.
Very true sir, That's why im here asking questions from the pros
Anyways hows this look, https://agpturbo.com/borg-warner-s25...1-12709095019/
And .63 A/R T3 Open 4 bolt outlet
Looks more towards my goal and should spool easier. My main concern is making sure it will fit the top mount you guys suggested for me.

who suggested a top mount? I thought we were talking logs here🤔🤔
I would go with that just make sire it' the t3 version, not the t4. I love my inline pro.
you don' want a top mount there laggy and when the boost hits it' like a ton of bricks and you won' have traction completely useless on the street imo, good for drag strip and not much else.
honestly just pm Shodan or go to his website and buy a hunter turbo. Perfect for your goals.
the Borg warmers are also a great option pretty much best bang for your buck if you can find the correct one.
here you go this should be the one you are looking for

Balor suggested a SPA...I dunno, they really don't seem like they're worth the extra money over a regular log.

Pretty sure that's a t4 inlinepro you saw. It's really too bad that the ebay log manifolds don't have better pictures, the main thing I was looking for when browsing them was verification of the runners not being directed towards one another at the collector. I would surmise that there is perhaps at least one of them worth getting. I also like 2kdrift's suggestion of PM'ing the shodan about the STC Hunter turbo. It's by far one of the most responsive and fastest spooling turbos for low 400s, you won't be disappointed.

A lot of the cast ebay manifolds have that problem - the runners basically are directed towards one another and the exhaust can either go up out the wastegate or down into the turbo. The cast manifolds that have the wastegate on the runner have a better collector (generally), they at least guide the exhaust down into the turbo better - but then you have the whole wastegate on one runner problem.
But meh they're $50 on ebay and i've seen people make 350whp on them.
