d15b valve cover torque specs

Default d15b valve cover torque specs

just need to know the torque specs for the d15b engine? also what distributor is used on the d15b motor and what size is the o-ring. my engine is leaking oiland i think its coming from the distributor or valve cover?how do i find out if its vtec or not?

Read through this..it has the valve cover toque specs: Adjusting the Engine Valve Clearance (on My Honda Civic 1999 D15B): 6 Steps
Call you local Honda dealer parts department ..they probably have the distributor O-ring in stock. Otherwise, remove the O-ring and bring it into a hardware store or Auto parts store to be matched up. Probably best to bring the distributor with you too in case the old o-ring is stretched out of spec size.

If your engine has Vtec there will be a Vtec solenoid on it that looks similar to this:

A Helm Manual is your best friend for things like this... It just so happens that I have one that I'm looking to get rid of haha. PM me if you're interested.

The valve cover bolts are easily broken. Do not tighten them trying to stop an oil leak.

If you do have VTEC, the VTEC solenoid gaskets commonly leak, and since there is oil under pressure there, can leak severely. It may also only leak when VTEC is engaged.
