VTEC without Oil Pressure switch or a JDM engine??
Guys I was checking some tutorials on how to change the VTEC gasket, but I realized something... MY ACCORD DOESN'T HAS OIL PRESSURE SWITCH! It's just a bolt, also no EGR valve...
The code of my engine is F23A1
So, do I have a JDM engine and didn't knew? That's where de OPS is supposed to be That's where the EGR valve is supposed to be...
Re: VTEC without Oil Pressure switch or a JDM engine??
Yes I´m here in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with an 2000 Accord EXR (loaded model for the year) and I replaced the Vtec Valve entirely which I ordered from the US. Now the old part did not have an ops, it had a bolt on the side and the new part came with what I think is the ops but where is the original ops located. Lets hope someone can help us figure this out. Also there seems to be no egr on my just like the pic you posted. My engine is a f23a1 and so far it´s running fine.
Re: VTEC without Oil Pressure switch or a JDM engine??
If it is stamped F23A1 it is not JDM. JDM engines are stamped F23A only.
None of the 98-02 USDM F23A1-4 VTEC engines used the VTEC mounted oil pressure switch.
As far as the EGR goes, that looks like a factory EGR blocking plate. Where you live in Mexico I'm not sure if the EGR was standard equipment. I know that not all F23A1 engines came with EGR.
