Default OVER HEATING ISSUE

I have a 2003 honda civic lx, bought it 3 months ago with 87,000 miles on it and a check engine light on showing codes for cylinder 2 and 3 misfire didn't think much of it just thought it needed new spark plugs or coil packs. First day i drove it around it over heated due to no water in radiator, so filled it up and went on my way thinking maybe dealer forgot to refill. well 2 days later i drove around a bit and i seen the needle rising so i pulled over and let it cool and checked if there was any water and again no water so called dealer next day let them know that something was wrong. i thought make be there was a crack in radiator but i checked it out and there were no leaks at all and no white/black smoke. i use the car to get to and from work every day so i kept refilling it everyday with water before and after i got to where i had to be so it wouldn't over heat well 3 months later (today) i noticed oil in the radiator but no milky oil. just wanting to know what it could be, head gasket ?

yes it was a head gasket the first time to noticed the radiator was empty
and since 3 months have now past it finely got bad enough that your seeing oil now
you probebly never saw any milky oil in your engine because you were driving it everyday
so the water thats been getting in there has been burning off on your daily drives

if your good with a wrench thou a head gasket on these 7th gen civic isnt that hard to do yourself
and wont cost any more that 300 to fix if you do it yourself

i was told by someone else that if its oil in water and not water in oil that its not a head gasket but i wasn't to sure about that so i rather get other opinions. if anyone can guide me into the right direction of a how to for the 7th gen head gasket id gladly appreciate it.

That all depends on if the head and block aren't warped.

Huh? Machining the surfaces flat again isn't something that's free for the average Joe, so I don't know how you could claim its only $300. Plus, inspecting a head for flatness requires some specialty tools.

inspecting a head for flatness can be done with a feeler gauge tool and a stainless steel ruler
about 8 bucks for both new if you dont own them already

That's if the stainless ruler is ground flat. Most common store bought scales aren't. A dial indicator is far more accurate at measuring the surface, as well.

No they're not. They're die-stamped in many cases. I'm a journeyman tool and die maker, bud. I know what a machined rule is.

Because I prefer not to disillusion people with false statements? Sure, you got me man. Its not the FAQ's threads, informational posts, or the like... its the arguments.

I'll leave you with this... at what point, do you think an argument would benefit me here? I have nothing to gain from this. I was just pointing out where you were making false claims, and leading people towards potentially inaccurate information.
