Hello all i have been driving this car I bought for 400 for 5 years and has been a great car I enjoy driving back and forth to work it is an automatic now the problem... motor took a crap and I want to put a new one in it what would it take to put the b20 in it???

Same auto, non blown, motor and call it a day.
u want more, u need to convert from auto to manual. Then you can swap whatever motor u like in it.
or replace the motor.
sell it
buy a 5 speeds, then do the b20 u want in it.

 

auto to manual on the 96-00 chassis is easy in comparison to the 92-95. all oem parts can be used.

 

Really, it depends on how much time and work the OP want to put in.. whether he have a spare vehicle to get around while this one is down. 1-2 days versus a week or longer.
