Hi guys will JDM 98 / 99spec DC2 steering rack bolt straight on to JDM 96spec DC2 do I also need to change power steering pump and lines from JDM 98 / 99spec or I can still use 96spec lines and pump.

 

It should. RHD to RHD yes, RHD to LHD no.

 

Thanks for your reply, do you know if power steering lines from pump to rack are the same and pump as well or would this need to be changed too from JDM 96 to JDM 98spec

 

If I recall correctly the rack and power steering assembly didn't change across the DC2's from 96-2000(from 1.6 base models to the R). I have heard rumours of a slight gearing change in 1999, but last time I looked I couldn't find anything definitive about that. I personally know a chap whose rack wore out on his R(the seals went and grease dried up) and he got a replacement one from a scrapped 1.6. Went in no problem. So long as it's RHD to RHD can't see any issue.
