Default B18 gsr skunk2 tuner stage 2 cams

Hello I have a jdm b18c gsr engine and Im wanting to put in a skunk2 tuner stage 2 camshaft with tuner springs and ti retainers and alpha series valves and I'm getting the head ported and polished will this work?

If installed properly, yes. It will function. Will it function optimally, no. You need a bit higher compression, and tuning of the camshaft to work optimally. Time for tuning management, and supplemental bolt-on components.

If I'm getting the head ported wouldn't that give me the compression for the cams I'm also getting 70mm throttle body alpha series intake and exhaust manifold and 550cc injectors it's at 10.6:1 comp right now and that's stock

No. Porting the head would not aid in compression increase.

There was another thread in which increase in Final Drive ratio would also help with your acceleration multiplier with your cylinder head work.

He may be thinking of porting as resurfacing the head, which would give him a little bit more compression. OP, if that's what you're thinking, yes it will work (a little) but it's really not the best way to increase compression. The only real way to get significant increase is to change pistons.
