I am interested in changing to 17" wheels on my wife's CRV and possibly lowering it. What lowering springs ride the best and what's the widest wheel I can run? I'm afraid 18" would require too small of a sidewall and would kill the ride. Plus I want to keep the weight down as much as possible.

From what I've seen 8" seems about it but I would like to get as wide of a wheel with as much offset I can run. I'm not aiming for some stance boy fitment but just want to run as much tire as I can. Thanks for the help
