Default Velocity stack/filter combo?!?

Currently runnin a vibrant filter/k&n filter screen on my front facing turbo street car. Usually run open/turbo guard at the track. Just bought a velocity stack, that I was planning on running at the track. But now I'm debating on running the stack combined with the 7" ID vibrant filter over the stack w/k&n screen. Do velocity stacks really make a difference?

1: Get rid of the screen, and never put it back on. The filter alone is plenty to protect the turbo, and I'd be VERY willing to wager actually provides better flow than the screen.

2: Yes, velocity stacks can offer small gains, depends on the inlet placement and some other variables how much gains, but they're never a bad thing.

I would find a velocity stack you can put on the turbo while sliding your vibrant filter over it, and then leave it that way unless you have the filter off to clean it (I'm assuming your Vibrant filter is comparable to a K&N).

Here's current "street" setup with the vibrant filter and filter screen. I originally only ran a filter, a week worth of weekend outings the filter woyld be black and I would have road grime in the cold side of the turbo. Running the k&n filter screen over the filter helped cut that down ALOT. Filter is still red under the screen with like 5 months of use. So screen stays.... here's a pic of the turbo guard "track setup" I plan on runnin the guard with the new velocity stack over it for the track, and I bought the big vibrant filter that fits over the stack with a k&n screen. That way the cars always track rdy under the street setup. But that filter is 8" long w/ A 7" base, huge filter to be sticking off the front bumper.lol... Just wondering if the stupid look is worth the extra hp from running a velocity stack 24-7

I believe small gains can definitely be had running a V-stack. But you need some kind of intake pipe length to truly benefit.

+1 for clean *** car.

We have some mutual friends, but I don't know them personally. I did watch BW destroy my friends Foxbody with his hatch a few years back, it was beyond epic
